About the Brighter Futures Run For Kids Sake
The course runs on the Lancaster County Junction Trail, a crushed stone path that stays mostly flat and shaded the whole way. It is well-marked and accurately measured, so no guessing about where to go or how far you have come. The surroundings are scenic, and the surface is easy on the legs.
Proceeds from the race go directly to a named memorial scholarship that supports students affected by workplace injuries, administered through Kids' Chance of PA. Cash prizes go to the top overall male and female finishers, with additional non-monetary awards handed out across age groups. Awards are presented on site and are not mailed afterward.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2024 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Brighter Futures Run For Kids Sake has been held every year since at least 2023. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
