The course runs through a shopping and dining district in Brentwood on Thanksgiving morning, which gives it an active, populated feel even at that early hour. It benefits local school district athletic programs, so the crowd skews toward families with kids of all ages. Strollers are welcome as long as an adult is pushing.

Packet pickup happens the evening before at Pioneer Elementary School on Shady Willow Lane. Race-morning pickup is also available, though bib collection closes shortly before the start. Dogs are not permitted on the course, and bikes, scooters, and skateboards are out as well.
