About the Bremenfest 5k Run and Fun Run

The course is flat, running through New Bremen and finishing along the Miami Erie Canal. It is a road race in the truest sense, with a canal-side finish that gives the end of the race a distinct feel. Age group awards go deep into the field, so there is real racing happening at most paces.

Both races start and finish at the Crown Pavilion on Plum Street, which makes parking and meeting up with people straightforward. The Fun Run goes off first, followed by the 5k shortly after, so families with runners doing different distances can watch each other cross the same finish line.

Common Questions About the Bremenfest 5k Run and Fun Run

Will I finish last at the Bremenfest 5k Run and Fun Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 29:42, and the last recorded finisher came in around 51:12, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Bremenfest 5k Run and Fun Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (99 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Bremenfest 5k Run and Fun Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:23 while the median finisher took 29:42. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
