About the 10th Annual BRAVE Race 2027

The BRAVE Race is a charity event held at a high school stadium in Aliso Viejo, raising money for a foundation dedicated to child safety. You can run or walk, and several distance options are available, including a virtual participation path for those who cannot make it in person. Chip timing is set up on site, so results are official.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before the race at a running store in nearby Laguna Hills. Picking up early gets you into a raffle for a gift certificate toward running shoes, with the winner announced at the race itself.

Common Questions About the 10th Annual BRAVE Race 2027

Will I finish last at the 10th Annual BRAVE Race 2027?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 38:20, and the last recorded finisher came in around 59:11, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 10th Annual BRAVE Race 2027 a good first 5K?

It is a small race (98 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 10th Annual BRAVE Race 2027?

The 5K winner ran 18:46 while the median finisher took 38:20. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
