About the Bramble Ramble
The course winds through the nature trails on a college campus outside Sidney, moving between patches of forest and open fields. Underfoot you get a rotating cast of surfaces: grass, dirt, boardwalk, gravel, and pavement, sometimes within a short stretch of each other. The terrain shifts from flat to noticeably hilly, and the trail throws the usual obstacles at you: roots, rocks, acorns, the occasional slippery boardwalk section.
Parking is near the Greenhouse, just past the main campus buildings off the entrance road. The start and finish are at a pavilion behind the Greenhouse. Restrooms are available in a nearby campus building, and awards including original artwork from a local artist go out shortly after the last finishers come in. There is also a drawing for handcrafted wooden furniture, open to runners and their guests.
