About the Bowman James Legacy 5K and Fun Run
The race is held at Calera High School and carries real weight behind it. It honors a young boy known for getting back up after a crash and finishing his race, and that spirit runs through the event. The proceeds go to a foundation built around his story, connecting faith, community, and the idea of pressing on through hard things.
After the run, a car show takes place on site, with registration happening the morning of the event. There are also balance bike races for young riders, which fits the story at the heart of this race more than it might at most others.
