About the Book It for the Olive Free Library 5K Run/Walk
The course runs along the Ashokan Reservoir Promenade, where cars are largely kept off the road and water sits on both sides. There is one real climb at the start, then the road levels out and the reservoir views open up. Costumes are encouraged, and there is a prize for the best one alongside the usual age group awards.
Parking is at Brown's Station, also called the Aerators, and spaces fill up, so carpooling helps. Post-race, the library puts out refreshments and snacks near the finish.
