About the Boise River Marathon
The course follows the Boise River Greenbelt, staying close to the water for most of the route. The river moves through a rocky canyon section before the path opens into the city, so the surroundings shift as you run. The surface is road, the grade is gentle throughout, and the course is designed to run short rather than long, which is why a number of runners post personal bests here.
Packet pickup runs at a local running store the days before the race, with options at the start and finish area as well, including an early morning window on race day. Parking at the start and finish area is free. Marathoners have a gear check near the far end of the course, staffed by volunteers who hold bags while you run back toward the finish.
