About the Bohicket 5k and Half at Seabrook Island

The race runs through Seabrook Island, a barrier island community where the roads are quiet and the surroundings are mostly marsh and maritime landscape. Both distances share the area, and the course has the feel of a private island that briefly opens itself up. Age grading is part of the awards structure, which tends to reward people who show up to race rather than just finish.

Parking is off the island at a county park called Mullet Hall, and buses run from there to the start. The return trip works the same way, pulling from the finish area at Freshfields Village, where the post-race gathering happens on an outdoor village green. Packet pickup the evening before is at a Fleet Feet location, with race-morning pickup also available at the start site.

Common Questions About the Bohicket 5k and Half at Seabrook Island

Will I finish last at the Bohicket 5k and Half at Seabrook Island?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:07:09, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:53:23, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Bohicket 5k and Half at Seabrook Island a good first 13.1 Miles?

A field of 395 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Bohicket 5k and Half at Seabrook Island?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:21:21 while the median finisher took 2:07:09. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
