About the Bob Gurtler Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The course starts at a church in the center of town, heads out through the streets of The Plains and down toward Hopewell Road, then turns around and comes back the same way. It is an out-and-back on familiar ground, mostly flat through a small rural town, and you finish where you started. The race benefits a local food pantry.
The start is at Grace Episcopal Church, so parking and gathering happen right there at the heart of the village, within easy walking distance of the route.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
