The race runs through Bladensburg Waterfront Park, with proceeds going directly to the school's Fine Arts programs. Awards go to the top finishers overall and to the top student finishers separately, which gives the high schoolers their own bracket to race in. The waterfront setting keeps the course scenic without adding much elevation.
