The course winds through the hills around Brenham, and in season the roadsides are thick with bluebonnets and other wildflowers. It is hilly enough to feel like real terrain, not a flat neighborhood loop. Several distance options make it work for younger kids through half marathon runners. High school athletes from the area volunteer throughout.
Blue Bell ice cream is served at the finish. Awards are picked up at a dedicated table rather than handed out at the line.
