About the Blake High School 5K Turkey Trot
This Turkey Trot is a school fundraiser put on by a high school community in Silver Spring. The course and surroundings are not described in detail, but the event draws families, students, staff, and friends together around the holiday. The pace and atmosphere skew toward participation over performance.
Proceeds from entry fees support the school's After Prom Committee, which funds a post-prom celebration for upperclassmen. If you are looking for a race with a clear local cause behind it, this one has that.
