About the 9th Annual Birmingham, AL Ostomy 5k
The race is held at Railroad Park, a green space in Birmingham that draws a lot of families and people connected to the ostomy community. The course runs through the park, and the event is built around awareness as much as racing, so the mood on the course reflects that. Separate prize categories recognize open runners and ostomates.
Packet pickup, including your bib, happens the morning of the race at the venue. There are separate start waves for the run and the walk, so the morning has a bit of a rolling feel rather than one single gun.
