About the Bill's Beer Run

The course runs along Casey Key, a narrow barrier island road with the Gulf of Mexico alongside it. The setting does a lot of the work. Because the road is narrow, the race stays small by design, which keeps the atmosphere tight rather than spread thin. Halloween weekend means costumes are part of the deal, and past the finish there is beer, hot dogs, a DJ, and dancing.

Strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course, given how little room the road has. Packet pickup runs separately from race morning, so checking the club's schedule ahead of time is worth doing. The Manasota Track Club hosts this as its main annual fundraiser, and club members get early access to registration before spots open to the public.
