About the Big Cork Wine Run Turkey Trot 5k

The route winds through the vineyard itself, starting and ending at the winery, so you are running among the vines rather than on a road. The terrain is uneven in places, cross-country style underfoot, and the route does a couple of loops, which means you pass the finish area before you are actually done. It is hilly enough to notice but not enough to stop you.

Packet pickup opens race morning at the winery, starting an hour before the gun. After you finish, there is a pour of wine waiting at the venue, which is really the point of the whole thing.

Common Questions About the Big Cork Wine Run Turkey Trot 5k

Will I finish last at the Big Cork Wine Run Turkey Trot 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 41:02, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:03:58, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Big Cork Wine Run Turkey Trot 5k a good first 5K?

A field of 469 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Big Cork Wine Run Turkey Trot 5k?

The 5K winner ran 22:04 while the median finisher took 41:02. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
