About the 2026 BIAMD Scarecrow Classic 5k and 1 Mile Walk
The race runs on paved roads through a university campus in Baltimore. Both the run and the walk cover the same kind of terrain, so the surface is consistent the whole way. There are no trail sections or gravel to navigate, just open road. The campus setting gives it a bit of room to breathe, away from heavy traffic.
Packet pickup runs on race morning before the start, so there is no separate trip the day before. Awards follow shortly after the last finishers come in. The event is organized on behalf of a brain injury advocacy organization, so the post-race atmosphere tends to draw survivors and families alongside the runners.

The 2026 BIAMD Scarecrow Classic 5k and 1 Mile Walk has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
