About the Ben Campbell Memorial 5K
The course starts and finishes at a local high school and winds through the city streets of Newark. This race is a memorial for Ben Campbell, a Newark High School and Wesley College graduate who passed away weeks before his wedding after earning his law degree and passing the bar. The fund it supports helps other students reach similar goals.
Packet pickup and bib collection happen at the high school on race morning before the start, so no separate trip the day before is needed. After the race, the party moves to a nearby tavern called Deer Park, where there are raffles and other ways to contribute to the memorial fund.
