About the Belmont 5K Turkey Trot
The race begins on a trail next to a village green space in the center of town, which gives the whole morning a small-town, outdoor feel. Expect a natural surface underfoot rather than pavement. Walkers have a shorter route option, and the staggered start keeps things from feeling rushed at the line.
After finishing, stick around for door prize drawings in the area near the start. It is a Thanksgiving morning race, so the post-run crowd tends to be unhurried, people milling around before heading off to their holiday tables.
