The course heads north out of town on a mix of pavement and gravel, following a flat out-and-back route toward the Platte River. The longer distance turns around where Clear Creek meets the river, so you get a sense of the landscape opening up before you head back. A shorter kids' route stays on paved streets in town, closer to the festival grounds.
