About the Belleville Main Street Marathon & Half Marathon
The course runs along what is billed as the longest Main Street in the country, through downtown Belleville. The half stays on city streets the whole way, while the full marathon adds a long stretch on a paved biking and walking trail managed by the county transit district. Both start and finish near the same spot on Main Street, so the crowd is concentrated there.
Post-race there is pizza from a local pub and a beer brewed specifically for the race by a Belleville brewery. The event is put on by volunteer runners and raises money for local causes, including a food pantry and a student scholarship fund.
