About the Battle of the Bean 5K Run/Walk

The race runs out of a shopping center on the south side of Kansas City, and the theme carries through the whole morning: runners pick a side, coffee or cocoa, and hot drinks are waiting at the finish. The course is a road 5K, and the post-race spread leans into the premise rather than being an afterthought.

Packet pickup happens the afternoon before at a local running store in Martin City. On race morning, remaining packets are available before the start at Red Bridge Shopping Center. Parking is plentiful in the shopping center lot; organizers ask runners to use the back sections so the shops and restaurants stay accessible.
