About the Band on the Run 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run

The course runs on paved asphalt through the outskirts of downtown Wentworth, with a few rolling hills along the way. It is a road race with some texture to it, not entirely flat, but nothing that requires much preparation either. Proceeds go toward a local middle school band program, which gives the morning a pretty clear sense of purpose.

Packet pickup runs the evening before the race during a short window, with race-morning pickup available as well. Awards go to overall male and female winners, plus age group podium spots across a wide range of categories.
