About the Atkins Watermelon Days 5k Walk/Run or 1-Mile Fun Run
The course runs on city streets and finishes at the pavilion on the west side of Atkins City Park. It is chip timed, part of the town's Watermelon Days celebration, and benefits a local community organization. The atmosphere is tied to the festival around it, so there is more going on than just the race itself.
Packet pickup opens at the same pavilion on race morning, shortly before the start. Awards go deep into age divisions, with hardware for top finishers overall as well.
