About the 17th Annual Athens Turkey Trot on November 27th, 2025
The course runs out and back along the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway, following the Hocking River through a stretch of tree-lined path. It is flat the whole way, on a paved surface, and the river scenery makes the distance feel shorter than it is. The race draws a wide range of paces, and the Thanksgiving morning timing gives it a particular energy.
Registration and check-in happen at the Fenway Park Shelter House inside West State Street Park. The evening before, a local running store on Station Street hosts packet pickup. Parking is in the ball fields lots nearby; an overflow option along Union Street puts you on the bike path, a short walk from the start. Pumpkin pies go to the top finishers in several categories.
