About the Athens Fair 5K Run/Walk
The course starts at a park in front of a beer tent, which tells you something about the atmosphere. It winds through trail sections before coming back out onto the street and finishing next to a grocery store in the heart of downtown. The terrain shifts underfoot as you move between the trails and the road, so expect a little of both.
The race runs as part of the town fair, so the finish area has real activity around it. There are snacks and drinks waiting at the end, and the crowd at the finish is fair-goers as much as runners.
