The course takes runners across the Hatem Bridge, which crosses the Susquehanna River, and that crossing is the centerpiece of the whole morning. The route moves between two waterfront towns, so there is water on both sides for stretches of it. The terrain is largely flat along the river, and the views open up considerably once you are on the bridge.
