About the Ashenfelter 8K Classic & The Tom Fleming 2K

The 8K course runs through Glen Ridge on roads, certified as relatively flat, with a couple of water stops along the way. The shorter out-and-back course traces Ridgewood Avenue. Both distances honor local runners with deep connections to the sport, one an Olympic steeplechase champion, the other a two-time New York City Marathon winner.

Packet pickup happens the evening before the race and again on race morning at Glen Ridge High School on Ridgewood Avenue, which also serves as the start area. Parking is available on Woodland Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue; Ridgewood Avenue itself is off-limits for cars.
