About the Around the Bend Five & Ten
Both courses start at a church on the edge of Strawberry Plains and head into what locals call Big Bend, a stretch of back-country road that is known for its open scenery and easy grade. The shorter distance is an out-and-back; the longer loops the same terrain. Neither course asks much of you in the way of climbing, and the surroundings feel rural and quiet.
Packet pickup happens race morning under the parking cover at the front of the church, before the first wave goes off. Parking splits between one side of the church lot and the rear lot of the school next door, since the east side of the church is reserved for the finish area. A coffee truck is on site, and restrooms are available near the start and finish.
