About the Armstrong County Turkey Trot
The course runs out and back on the Armstrong Trail, which follows the Allegheny River. It is paved and flat the whole way, so there are no real surprises underfoot. The turnaround structure means you can see faster runners heading back while you are still going out, which gives the course a little life in the middle.
The race is organized through the local YMCA, and there is food at the finish along with water on the course. The post-race area has an age group awards structure for both distances, so if you tend to place in your bracket, it is worth sticking around.
