Waukee, IA
This race encourages participants to show up in superhero costumes, which gives the morning a different feel from a typical road race. It benefits the Archie Lee Foundation, whose work centers on safe-sleep awareness and community support, so the cause is woven into the atmosphere rather than just mentioned at registration. The course is a standard road distance through Waukee.
