About the Arcadia-DeSoto County Habitat for Humanity 13th Annual Turkey Trot 5K

The course runs through Morgan Park along the Peace River, mixing paved sections with natural trail. The surroundings are open and pleasant, with the river nearby for most of the route. It benefits the local Habitat for Humanity chapter, so there is a purpose behind the morning beyond the running itself.

Packet pickup happens at the Habitat for Humanity office in the days before the race, with race-morning pickup available at the park. The start area is Morgan Park itself, which gives you room to warm up and keeps post-race gathering easy.

Almost certainly not. Half the 3 Miles field finished slower than 32:49, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:07:28, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Arcadia-DeSoto County Habitat for Humanity 13th Annual Turkey Trot 5K a good first 3 Miles?

It is a small race (117 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. How competitive is the Arcadia-DeSoto County Habitat for Humanity 13th Annual Turkey Trot 5K?

The 3 Miles winner ran 19:47 while the median finisher took 32:49. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
