About the APPLE-A-DAY 5k
The course runs mostly on a wooded seasonal road near the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. The road surface is the kind you do not find in most road races, quieter and tree-lined rather than suburban pavement, and the dunes are close enough that you can sense the landscape even if you are not running through it.
The race is part of a larger Apple BBQ festival, so the finish area opens into a full afternoon of food, live music, a car show, and vendors. Registration on race morning is at Mac Wood's Dune Rides, which also puts you right at the start.
