About the Annual Spud Run
The Spud Run is tied to the Nicholas County Potato Festival, and it goes off early enough to open the biggest day of the celebration. The course winds through downtown streets on mostly flat pavement, so there is not much elevation to worry about. The surrounding area is rural, and the town itself is small, which makes the whole morning feel contained and unhurried.
Registration opens on race morning, so you can show up without having sorted things out in advance. The start is downtown, putting you right in the middle of the festival from the moment you arrive.
