About the Annual 5K Butterfly Run!
The Butterfly Run raises money for Her Well Center, a faith-based crisis center in Katy that supports people who have experienced sexual trauma or intimate partner violence. The name comes from the organization's own framework for healing, which moves survivors through stages toward what they call the Butterfly Stage. The course itself is a standard road route through the area.
Before the gun goes off, there is a butterfly release ceremony. Live butterflies are available to purchase at the start, and participants gather a few minutes early to release them together. It is a quiet, intentional moment that sets the tone for the morning.
