About the Angry Bear Holiday Fun Run and 5K

The course runs through parks decorated for the season, with inflatables and holiday lights along the way. It is an afternoon start, so the sky is getting dark by the time the faster finishers come through, which gives the whole thing a different feel than a morning race. A costume contest runs alongside the timed event, and plenty of people show up dressed for it.

Santa arrives at packet pickup on race day, and the post-race spread pulls from several local vendors, including pizza, hot dogs, donuts, cookies, and hot cocoa. The race benefits the Jackson High School Baseball team, so the crowd skews toward families and students connected to the program.
