The course runs on the grounds of a university campus in Romeoville, starting from a building called the Flight Deck. The event raises money for domestic violence programs, and the atmosphere reflects that purpose: dogs and strollers are welcome, and the field tends to include people moving at all different speeds for reasons that matter to them. Raffles and activities fill out the morning after the run.
