About the American Legion Post 491 5K Fun Run & 2mile walk

The course runs on the Katy Trail, a paved rail-trail that cuts through the countryside outside Green Ridge. The surface is smooth and flat the whole way, which means strollers and leashed dogs fit in just fine alongside runners and walkers. It is an out-and-back on open trail, so you get a real sense of the surrounding landscape rather than looping through a neighborhood.

Packet pickup is on race morning on Main Street, opening well before the start. After you finish, there are biscuits and gravy at the ready. The race is part of a larger day in town, with a craft festival in the park and food trucks nearby, and live music in the afternoon.
