About the Alzheimer's 5K
The course runs through Vista View Park, so the surroundings are open and green rather than urban. The race benefits the Alzheimer's Association, and that purpose shows in the atmosphere: there is music and dancing near the start and finish, and the crowd tends to skew toward families and people running in memory of someone.
Awards go to top overall finishers and across age groups. The post-race area has enough going on that sticking around after you cross the line feels worth it.
