About the Alton Old Home Week 5K Road Race
The course runs through Alton Bay on paved roads, mostly flat with a downhill lean and one moderate climb along the way. It starts and finishes in a parking lot next to the bandstand, right on the edge of Lake Winnipesaukee, so the view at the start line is genuinely hard to beat.
Packet pickup happens the morning of the race before the gun goes off. Parking is spread across a few spots nearby, including on-street along the main road, at the town beach, and at an overflow field a short distance away. Post-race there are refreshments, awards, and raffles.
