About the Alpine Races 5k and 10 Mile
The course runs through the streets of Lake Zurich and along the lakeshore, so you get water views for a good stretch of the route. It is a road race on certified courses, and aid stations with water and Gatorade are spread along the way. No dogs, strollers, or bikes on the course.
The race starts and finishes at Breezewald Park, east of downtown. Packet pickup runs the evening before at a running store in Kildeer, with a second window the following afternoon. The park also has morning pickup before the gun, and parking is free, with volunteers holding signs to point you in.
