About the AIMHigh-Keep Pressing 5K/10K/13.1M

All distances start and finish on Breckenridge Street. The shorter course turns up Garnett Street and loops back from a hospitality stop near an old building on North Garnett. The longer routes push out onto Satterwhite Point Road, with the half marathon reaching Kerr Lake Country Club before turning back toward town. The roads give you a look at the countryside outside Henderson.

There are hospitality stations along each course, so you will not go long without a stop. The post-race awards include a monetary prize for the group that brings the largest contingent of registered runners, presented at a celebration after the race.

Common Questions About the AIMHigh-Keep Pressing 5K/10K/13.1M

Will I finish last at the AIMHigh-Keep Pressing 5K/10K/13.1M?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 53:39, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:50:34, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the AIMHigh-Keep Pressing 5K/10K/13.1M a good first 5K?

It is a small race (160 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the AIMHigh-Keep Pressing 5K/10K/13.1M?

The 5K winner ran 24:05 while the median finisher took 53:39. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
