The course runs on hard-packed red clay roads through active and former citrus groves along the Lake Wales Ridge. The terrain rolls gently rather than flattening out completely, and the surroundings feel genuinely rural, with grove land stretching out on either side. It reads more like a country road run than an urban race.
The finish is at a local middle-senior high school, where there is BBQ, snacks, cold drinks, and Florida orange juice waiting after you come in.
