About the Kitten Place Black Cat 5K Fun Run
The route runs through the Twin Lakes neighborhood, looping around a lake. It is untimed, so there is no pressure to race. A shorter walk option follows the same general area. The surrounding streets are residential, and the course is flat enough that it draws walkers and casual joggers alongside anyone actually pushing a pace.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a running store in a nearby mall. On race morning, grass parking lines both sides of the start area near the park, with overflow at the community pool lot around the corner. Volunteers in orange vests direct traffic. After the run, there are food trucks, music, a costume contest, a raffle, and a silent auction.
