About the 9TH MISPILLON ART LEAGUE RUN FOR THE ARTS 5k

The course follows the Mispillion Riverwalk Trail and loops out to Goat Island, so there is water on most sides of you for a good stretch. The terrain is flat the whole way, and the route winds through town before returning to the park next to Arena's restaurant.

Post-race refreshments and an awards ceremony are held at a nearby restaurant on Washington Street, just a short walk from the finish. Race-morning registration opens before the gun, and awards go out quickly after the last runner crosses.

Common Questions About the 9TH MISPILLON ART LEAGUE RUN FOR THE ARTS 5k

Will I finish last at the 9TH MISPILLON ART LEAGUE RUN FOR THE ARTS 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 26:59, and the last recorded finisher came in around 59:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 9TH MISPILLON ART LEAGUE RUN FOR THE ARTS 5k a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (48 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 9TH MISPILLON ART LEAGUE RUN FOR THE ARTS 5k?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:23 while the median finisher took 26:59. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
