About the 9.11km Run/Walk/Ride/Remember
This is a 9/11 memorial event, so the atmosphere is more reflective than most morning races. It is free to enter, with donations going to local police, fire, and sheriff's department. The course is walkable and open to cyclists as well, so the field tends to spread out across all kinds of participants.
The event is based out of a local church, where registration opens before the start. Afterward, a memorial and worship service is held, followed by a meal. A food truck or catered spread is not the vibe here; it reads more like a community gathering with purpose behind it.
