About the 5Katie
The courses run on single-track trails through Meeks Mountain, a hand-built trail system inside Hurricane City Park. The terrain is easy to moderate, but weather can shift that quickly, so expect roots and uneven footing. The race honors a child lost to cancer, with proceeds supporting pediatric cancer care through a local nonprofit.
Packet pickup is at a big red barn near the park entrance, with signs guiding you from there. The start and finish are at a shelter in an area called the bowl, across some train tracks. Plan extra time for the walk in. Bathrooms are available near the park, and portable restrooms are set up at the start. Post-race refreshments are at the shelter.
