About the 35th Annual 5K Turkey Bowl Race
The course runs through a summer camp, mixing paved paths, gravel, and grass as it loops around a lake and climbs into the surrounding woods. The terrain shifts underfoot throughout, and there are real hills in the wooded sections. It reads more like a trail run than a road race, with the camp setting giving it a tucked-away feel.
A children's fun run kicks off the morning on the main campus, so the start area has families around before the main race goes off. The course begins in the central part of camp, then heads out toward the lake and into the trees.
