About the 17th John's Baby Steps
The race is held at a riverside park in Adel, with a timed course, a shorter memory walk, and a kids fun run. The event is built around remembering infants and young children who have been lost, and that purpose shapes the whole morning. There is an angel presentation before the start, story boards honoring those remembered, and a balloon release planned near the beginning.
Packet pickup runs the day before at the Adel Public Library, with race-morning pickup available at the park as well. The organizers ask everyone to be checked in well before the start out of respect for the families gathered for the angel presentation. Young children can join the kids fun run at no cost and without pre-registration.
