Three separate routes make up this series, each a short out-and-back run spread across the Thanksgiving holiday window. Runners complete them on their own time, submit their results online, and that is essentially the whole structure. There are no awards at the finish line; the organizing tradition redirects that money toward scholarships instead. A turkey-drawing contest runs alongside the races for anyone who wants to participate.
